Plot : The name of the movie ‘You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger’, itself sounds like a prediction by some palm reader, whose audience is a troubled lady, longing for love. The story of the movie revolves around a couple of couples, struggling to stick to reality in times of trouble, but let their emotions fly instead. Alfie and Helena get a divorce, when they understand that things are not going to work out between them anymore. Consequently, Helena, the damsel in distress takes counsel from a fortuneteller going by the name Cristal. What are the odds that a fortuneteller, known to gaze through crystal balls, having that name? It’s highly ironic, and this irony is carried on throughout the movie, as another falling out between a couple takes place. This time it’s the relationship between Alfie and Helena’s daughter Sally, and her husband Roy. He has penned a successful book, and is impatient to know what the future of his next creation looks like. He is later seen falling for Dia, an intriguing woman, studying musicology, incidentally introduced by Sally herself. Seeing her husband’s disinclination towards her, Sally gets attracted to her new boss, Greg. Sally’s dad shockingly weds Charmaine, a prostitute. This series of new and old relationships enmeshed in the movie, is all you need, to realize how much of an issue life becomes, if you don’t think the right way. So, be sure to think the right way and catch this masterpiece.
