Plot : You, The Living is a musical comedy drama directed by Roy Andersson, about the different conflicting aspects of humankind. The film is a collection of nearly 50 short stories, some of which are loosely connected with each other. However, the real bond is that all the characters are essentially humans, who try to develop the themes of life, existence and happiness. The film focuses on the lives of an obese woman, a discontented psychiatrist, a heart broken fan, a carpenter, a business consultant, an elementary school teacher facing emotional problems and her rug selling husband, among others. The film extensively uses several concepts that reflect the humanity, fears, feelings and desires of the characters. The film begins with a monologue that follows the tune of dixieland jazz music being played by isolated musicians each of whom is present in a different room in various parts of the city. It ends with various characters suddenly stopping in the middle of daily chores, to look up into the sky.
