Plot : Thirty years after the death of punk rock star Sid Vicious, of the band the Sex Pistols, Alan Parker’s documentary Who Killed Nancy? takes us to that fated night of 12th October, 1978. This was the night when it all began. We don’t yet know what Room 100 of the Chelsea Hotel might have witnessed that night, before twenty-year-old Nancy Spungen’s body was discovered by the New York Police Department. Director Alan Parker’s attempt at discovering the actual murderer of Nancy, left the case even more ruffled than before. Girlfriend of the Sex Pistols’ bass guitarist Sid Vicious, Nancy was with her boyfriend the night she was found murdered. So what actually happened that night? Along with Alan Parker and his numerous interviews, you can also try looking for an answer. Sid, apparently considered guilty and consequently sent to prison, never saw his case being brought to trial. After about six months, at the age of twenty-one, Vicious himself was found dead due to a drug overdose. The documentary takes us through the numerous evidences that have come up since the murder. Sid, though initially admitted to having stabbed Nancy, kept repeating otherwise, till the day he died. The documentary raises many questions in its attempt to answer the primal one – who killed Nancy? The couple had a lot of money with them, which later could not be located. According to later reports, Sid was unconscious at the time Nancy was supposed to have been stabbed. With money as a motive, the mystery has only deepened and there is still no answer as to who might have killed Nancy.
