Plot : Directed by Ian Sharp, Tracker is a thrilling narration of a veteran soldier, faced with the most difficult decision of his life - to complete the job entrusted to him by the government, or to let the fugitive in his hands, free. Arajan, the soldier, returns home from the Boer war, only to be set on yet another grueling escapade. He is asked to hunt down Kereama, a seafarer, who allegedly escaped from the clutches of the government after brutally murdering a British soldier. Arajan is promised a handsome bounty in return of the criminal. He puts all the skills and tactics that he’s learnt after years of intensive training in the army, and finally manages to trace Kereama’s whereabouts and grasp him in his clutches. That’s when the story takes an unexpected twist, as Kereama narrates his story to Arajan. The soldier is taken aback by the realization that the man he’s been pursuing is no criminal, but is in fact innocent. They befriend one another, and as the time comes for them to part, Arajan has to choose between a deep bond of friendship, and his reputation. Should he let the man go, now that he knows of his innocence, and put his life at peril by doing so; or should he stand true to his ideals, and complete the task at hand the way it’s supposed to be, without letting emotions seep in? The movie makes for edge-of-the-seat drama, as we watch Arajan pursuing Kereama, the former an expert at tracking, and the latter proficient at escaping.
