Plot : The Yellow Handkerchief is a romantic drama directed by Udayan Prasad. The story moves around three strangers who are somehow brought together on an unusual journey. The Ex-prisoner Brett Hanson (William Hurt) has been in jail for continuous six years and now he is released. But as he enters the outside world, he finds himself lost in this strange world of responsibilities and liabilities. He then decides to forget his devastating past and move ahead in life. He set himself for a road trip to his home of Southern Louisiana to meet his wife May (Maria Bello) whom he left behind. As shown in The Yellow Handkerchief trailer, he meets two distressed teenagers, who were battling with the loneliness of their lives. One of them is Martine (Kristen Stewart), an anxious guy who has just evaded his family and the other is Gordy (Eddie Redmayne), embarrassed young nomadic, craving for acceptance.
