Plot : The Way We Get By is a documentary directed by Aron Gaudet, about three senior citizens, who, over the years, have been greeting thousands of soldiers at the small airport in Maine. Bill Knight, Joan Gaudet and Jerry Mundy, who call themselves, "the Maine Troop Greeters," have made it the mission of their life to give a warm and encouraging welcome to every single soldier returning to America. The three men, who have been on call 24*7, for the last six years, have been receiving every returning soldier with a hug or a handshake, and even providing them with a cell phone to give their loved ones a call. No matter at what time a plane lands at Bangor International Airport in Maine, the Greeters are there and no matter what personal problems they might be facing, Knight, Gaudet and Mundy find that their work with the soldiers not only provides them with a sense of purpose, but also helps them to handle their troubles in an easy manner.
