Plot : The Narrows is a drama flick directed by François Velle. 19-year old Mike Manadoro (Kevin Zegers)’s wins a partial scholarship to study at NYU. However, he is faced with the dilemma of finding a way to create a balance between his integral Italian neighborhood heredity and a chance to make a career in the unreserved and stylish world in the influential part of New York. He has to earn enough to pay the remaining tuition fee and has to think about his retired and disabled father as well. Mike finally gets to work for a local mob boss, Tony and has to make deliveries for him to raise the required money. At the same time he has to create a balance between his work and his academic assignments. In addition, he has to deal with his attraction towards a young and beautiful fellow student, Kathy (Sophia Bush) while not hurting the feelings of his long time girlfriend Gina (Monica Keena) whom he has promised marriage.
