Plot : The Man Who Came Back is the story of a one man’s fight against injustice. The film follows the after effects of the Civil War, wherein the recently freed slaves are still working in relentless conditions in a plantation located in Louisiana. The plantation supervisor, a white man named Reese Paxton, raises his voice against the atrocities inflicted by the most powerful men of the town, including the sheriff of the town, the preacher and Billy Duke, a power monger. Motivated by Paxton, the workers go on strike. The Dukes retaliate by slaughtering the entire Paxton family, right before his eyes. Later, Billy with the help of his corrupt father, Judge Duke, imprisons Paxton for murdering his own family. He is mercilessly tortured in prison, but after several years, Paxton returns to avenge the injustice meted out to him and even the most powerful men are not able to escape his wrath.
