Plot: Redefining the genre of romance, Scott Hicks’ latest feature film based on the eponymous novel by Nicholas Sparks, depicts the strength of human-belief in ‘luck’ that pits an iron-soul in the cold terrains of North Carolina, on the search of love. On being deported to duty in Iraq for the third time in a row, U.S. Marine Logan Thibault comes across the picture of a young lady, half-buried in the camp ground. His first reaction to his discovery was to dump the picture away, but, instead, he gets the picture back to the base camp for someone to claim the same. When no one claims, it remains with Logan, and he soon begins finding the picture in the pockets of his uniform, all the time. As we watch The Lucky One online, we find that from then onwards, Logan with the picture in his pockets turns successful in each and every event that required luck. Eventually, we discover Logan, also turning lucky to escape deathly and seemingly, inescapable attacks from the enemy that killed two of his best friends in the platoon. Luck favors Logan again and again, till he reaches a stage, where he yearns to learn the reason for the same. He embarks on a search for the same woman, as he travels across country to Hampton, North Carolina, where he, finally, comes across his lady luck. He discovers the lady as a divorcee and a single-mother, Elizabeth, who in no time falls in love with Logan. He maintains the truth about her picture and its story of luck as a secret that eventually threatens to bring the two lovers apart, and destroy, not only the romance in-between them, but also their entire lives.
