Plot : The kite Runner is a movie set in the 1970s Afghanistan adapted from a novel of same name. Amir (Zekiria Ebrahimi) is the son of a wealthy Pushtun businessman Baba (Homayoun Ershadi) and lives in peaceful Kabul. He along with his Hazara servant Ali’s (Nabi Tanha) son Hassan grew up together playing kite competitions. Amir always has a complex that his father loves Hassan more than him. In one of the kite competitions when Hassan like always runs to bring a kite for Amir, he is beaten and raped by Assef (Elham Ehsas). A coward Amir witnesses all this but doesn’t come to help him. Amir hates Hassan to the extent that he frames him as a thief to force his father to fire him. In 1979 when Russians invade Afghanistan, Baba and Amir move to San Francisco, California. There they lead a normal life and Amir graduates in a Public College. He also meets a young woman Soraya (Atossa Leoni) and marries her. In-spite of this he is still haunted by his cowardice and selfishness. Thus he returns to Peshawar, in Pakistan seeking redemption.
