Plot : Michael Winterbottom’s, The Killer Inside Me, is a crime-thriller that manages to scare the hell out of us! It stars Casey Affleck and Kate Hudson in the lead role, where Affleck plays Deputy Sheriff Lou Ford, a sweet and dependable man in his town. Even though he is considered boring at times, mostly because he is a little slow at things, he is a pillar of his community in the small Texas town. A routine arrest brings him face to face with a prostitute, who eventually becomes a pawn in his plans. It is this plan that slowly unmasks the fact that Lou is actually a violent sociopath, who savors rape and murder. When he was a kid, his behaviors nearly got him exposed and put aside, but his brother took the fall for his crimes. But can there be a cure to something that is inside a man? Can Lou always keep the sickness hidden and suppressed? The film says that he cannot. The film takes a brutal turn when Lou starts working on his long-suppressed sickness yet again. When it surfaces, it turns him into a violent being, leading to devastating and horrific situations, beyond imagination. The whole town’s security, which was considered safe up until now in his hands, becomes bare to brutality, through the same hands. The film has some gruesome scenes and has a terror underlying, that keeps you hooked throughout. The innocence of Affleck’s face is a great advantage in hiding the psychopath that lurks beneath!
