Plot : The Invention of Lying is a hilarious comedy starred and directed by Ricky Gervais. This movie is set in an alternate reality where dishonesty does not survive. Each and every individual from politicians to advertisers to the common man and woman only speaks the truth, without giving a damn to the consequences. But when an  unfortunate loser, Mark abruptly builds up the aptitude to lie, he discovers that lying has its rewards. Then, in a world where every word is understood to be the complete truth, Mark effortlessly lies his way to distinction and luck. But as we all know that lies have a way of spreading, and Mark begins to understand that things are being a little out of order when some of his tallest tales are being taken as, well, gospel.
