Plot : The story follows a struggling magician, who moves from Paris to the Highlands and finally Edinburgh, in hope of finding an audience, that will love his art. This man is a master of magic, but with television and rock bands ruling the minds of people, his art is dying a slow death. The current state of affairs forces him to perform in small parties and bars to keep his life moving. After stepping on the Highlands, which have been beautifully portrayed, he strikes a friendship with a girl, who falls in love with the face value of his magic tricks, rather than their money value. Overall, The Illusionist is movie about a magician, who has lost his grandeur to sophisticated technological advancements and rising rock fever of people. Side by side, his sweet relationship with a girl, who changes his life forever, is also portrayed. An animation, which touches the hearts is a rarity, but The Illusionist definitely belongs to the league of such superbly crafted animated movies.
