Plot : The Holiday is a romantic comedy revolving around the lives of two beautiful women living in different parts of the world. In London Iris Simpkins (Kate Winslet) writes a popular wedding column for London's Daily Telegraph. She secretly loves her colleague Jasper Bloom but breaks down on coming to know that he’s going to marry another girl. 6,000 miles away in Los Angeles Amanda Woods (Cameron Diaz) owns an advertising firm that creates movie trailers. She breaks up with her unfaithful boyfriend Ethan and struggles to forget him. Amanda lives in an L.A. house in sunny California while Iris owns a cottage in snow covered, Surrey. While surfing, Amanda comes across a house exchange website. There they both meet online and decide to swap their homes for a two weeks holiday. This holiday will change their lives completely. Living at places entirely different from their normal homes, they both find love. Iris gets help from her new neighbor, screenplay writer Arthur who makes her to get back her self-esteem and she also falls in love with composer Miles. On the other hand Amanda meets Iris’ brother Graham and falls for him.
