Plot : The curse of the Grudge continues in this third part of the series. It all begins, when Jake, a patient in a mental institution is petrified, because he is being haunted by the ghost of Toshio, a little boy. But his therapist, Dr. Sullivan, doesn’t believe him. Soon, Jake is found in his cell, with all his bones broken and with blood all around. Dr. Sullivan tries to investigate the matter in her own way, negating the fact that Jake was murdered by Toshio. Jake was the only surviving member of the ill-fated Chicago apartment building. Naoko, a young woman in Japan, comes to know about Jake’s death and decides to leave for Chicago to stop the curse, because she thinks that the cause of death is her sister, Kayako. Max, the landlord, his two sisters, Lisa and Rose and one Gretchen are the occupants of the building, which is going through renovation to attract more tenants. Rose tells Lisa that she sees a white boy, roaming around in the building, to which Lisa pays no attention. Meanwhile, Naoko meets Dr. Sullivan and tries to convince her that Jake’s death was not because of any hallucinations, and she starts to believe her. But it is too late, as the curse has already started spreading and the next victim is Dr. Sullivan! Now, Naoko has to stop the curse from killing the occupants of the building.
