Plot : The political-drama thriller, The Ghost Writer, is based on an acclaimed book titled, The Ghost. A renowned British ghostwriter is invited by the British Prime Minister, Adam Lang, to complete his memoir, which he apparently is supposed to be writing. He is told by his agents, that it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be the ghostwriter for the prime minister, and Adam Lang is all the more special. He agrees to complete Adam Lang’s memoir, after his predecessor dies in a freak accident. The ghost was called in the middle of a bone-chilling winter, to a beautiful but remote ocean facing mansion, in a fictional village called Old Haven in the United States of America. The day he arrives, Rycart, the British foreign minister, charges Lang of authorizing illegal seizure of terrorists and handing them over to the CIA for torture. Soon, Lang’s secluded mansion, where he lives with his wife Ruth, and personal assistant cum mistress, Amelia Bly, is stormed by reporters and journalists. As the ghost writer starts his job, he questions the death of his predecessor and uncovers that his death might be because he knew Lang’s secret. Does the secret uncover any link between the British prime minister and the Central Intelligence Agency? Is the new ghost writer’s life in danger too, if he dwells too much on these topics?
