Plot : ‘The Descendants’ is another movie brought to you by Alexander Payne, the creator of Oscar award winning ‘Sideways.’ This dramedy is inspired by the novel written by Kaui Hart Hemmings. The flick depicts the tragic journey of Matt King (George Clooney), who is an apathetic husband and father of two young girls. The life journey of Matt has been portrayed with the emotional tinge, which helps the film to connect with the audience. The easy going Matt is forced to put a pause on his way of living and to give his life a new direction, when he is struck with a tragedy, which changes his life. The changing point is witnessed by Matt when his wife meets a boating accident and slips into coma. This disaster makes him reconnect to his daughters. Soon he grapples with the fact that his wife was betraying him. She was going around with another guy prior to her accident. The discovery of the extra-marital affair leaves Matt in a state of shock. Now, he makes up his mind to sell his family land. He gets engulfed by the thoughts of wife’s betrayal, about getting back to his daughters and at the same time of selling the property, which he inherited from the Hawaiian Royal family and missionaries.
