Plot : Directed by Mark Herman, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is based on a bestselling novel by Irish writer John Boyne. The story that is set in the World War II-era Germany revolves around young Bruno (Asa Butterfield) whose father is an army Commandant and has been promoted to commandeer a prison camp in the country side. Bruno finds no companions in his new home apart from his mother and elder sister, until he meets Shmuel (Jack Scanlon), a boy who is dressed in striped pajamas and unknown to him is an inmate of the Nazi concentration camp. Thus beings an innocent friendship which leads to a series of tragic and devastating sequence of events.
