Plot : The Arbor is a biography drama documentary, based on Andrea Dunbar, the popular playwright. The storyline of this film has been provided by Andrea’s daughter, Lorraine. The movie depicts the true story of Andrea, reflecting on the numerous ruthless instances from her childhood. Andrea lived a life of misery and poverty, which augmented the dullness of her life. She was brought up by a very destructive father, who tried to push her into drug abuse and finally, prostitution. But this young girl was more than what her father considered her to be. She was courageous and outgoing and she somehow knew that all of this would not last for a very long time. Although being forced to live a life of slavery by her father did affect her, a lot, it truly was short lived. But unfortunately, so was her life. This courageous woman died at the age of 29 and it proved to be an extremely tragic moment for her daughter. Lorraine was only ten, when this tragic event occurred. Watch The Arbor online to see how Lorraine has depicted in this documentary, how she was somehow upset with her mother’s life. At the same age now, she thinks that Andrea did not have any excuse to take such nonsense from her father and live a life, full of disgust. Today, Lorraine blames her mother for her short life and is of the opinion that had Andrea been a little stronger, she would have been alive. However, later instances of the movie show that Lorraine empathized with her mother and did actually respect her.
