Plot : Loneliness and friendship with isolation are the high quality wheels that have driven the car of The Anchorage. As the camera starts rolling, and you watch The Anchorage online, Ulla appears on the screen. She has been living all alone, on a desolate island, situated in the Baltic Sea. Here, she is being paid a visit by her own daughter and a young family friend. These visits have been quite often and enable Ulla to get some companionship; though only for a short span of time. Now, as both of them leave, Ulla is returned back to her loneliness and desolation. Those moments that she had spent with her daughter and friend are considered to be a source of life and joy for her heart. This shows that Ulla has got sufficient amount of patience, in her, which enables her to spend time alone on the island. This dramatic film, with Ulla as a protagonist, is a fine work of isolation, picturised with absolute excellence. Now, as Ulla continues to stay aloof on the island, her isolations seem to be getting disturbed, with the sudden appearance of the shadowy image of a deer hunter. This is the point that turns the lifestyle of Ulla upside down, and takes her away to a new world. During the entire movie, she is shown performing certain rituals, which include her stripping and immersing in the cold water, surrounding the island. Why does she live alone? Is the deer hunter really there or just in Ulla’s imagination? All these are questions, which have answers lying deeply embedded in the movie!
