Plot : Summer Hours, a family drama directed by Olivier Assayas, is a tale of three siblings who are forced to surrender the family belongings for their dead mother's progression. The children of Hélène Berthier (Edith Scob) assemble at her country house, for her upcoming 75th birthday. Adrienne (Juliette Binoche) and her boyfriend, James (Kyle Eastwood), flow in from New York. Jérémie (Jérémie Renier) comes with his wife (Valérie Bonneton), after taking an exceptional break from his business. Frédéric (Charles Berling), the only one to visit his mother frequently, comes with wife Lisa (Dominique Reymond). Hélène has inherited a large and expensive collection of art pieces from her brother. When her health starts deteriorating, she wants her children to devise a plan to handle the collection, after her death. With Jérémie thinking about a business opportunity in China and Adrienne planning to permanently settle in America, they are unable to sway the final decision of Frédéric, who intends persuade a gallery to purchase and present the collection together as a set.
