Plot : If you believe that childhood dreams don’t die with the end of childhood, Standing Ovation is the movie for you. Infused with humour and hilarious adventures, this movie takes you on a journey where dreams are transformed into the truth. Something like a hybrid of ‘High School Musical’ and ‘Glee’, Standing Ovation is a movie where you are treated to a generous dose of music and laughter. Targeted at a younger audience, this movie is noted for its portrayal of five middle school children and their dream to win a national music video contest. Five middle-school buddies decide to form a singing group, in order to participate in the contest and choose to name the group ‘The Five Ovations’. However, their journey is laden with numerous obstacles, and they encounter ‘The Wiggies’, a group of five talented sisters, whose only aim in life is to win the competition - by means either fair or foul. Abetted in the task by their rich parents, The Wiggies will stop at nothing short of seizing the grand prize of one million dollars. Faced by such a powerful rival, the Five Ovations are at their wits’ end, struggling to manoeuvre their way to the top. Along with limited resources and meagre funds, the five friends meander along a way of ups and downs, aided only by their courage and talent. The witty group of five, create original songs and mesmerising dance routines, ensuring a strong stand against their rivals, The Wiggies. Their passion is the only steering force available to them, as they struggle to make their way to a real shot at victory!
