Plot : Spinning Into Butter is a drama flick directed by Mark Brokaw. Sarah Daniels (Sarah Jessica Parker) has recently been hired as a Dean of Students and now she has been given the responsibility of investigating the series of racially motivated crimes that have occurred on the campus. Her decision to seek the help of the police does not sit well with Dean Catherine Kenney (Miranda Richardson) and President Winston Garvey (James Rebhorn), who are more concerned about protecting the reputation of the institution than nabbing the culprit. The arrival of the investigative reporter Aaron Carmichael (Mykel Williamson) does not make things easy for her and she is finally forced to question her own long-dormant prejudices, when a "Forum on Race" conducted by Professor Burton Strauss (Beau Bridges) turns into a riot.
