Plot : Directed by Kent Alterman, Semi Pro is a sports comedy set in year 1976 against the backdrop of the crazy basketball league ABA that rivaled NBA. Semi-Pro tells the tale of Jackie Moon (Will Ferrell), a basketball freak who uses the profits earned from his single chart topper song to buy a basketball team named Flint Michigan Tropics. However, the team turns out to be the worst team in the ABA league and when ABA announces its merger with NBA, Flint Moon and his team face the danger of folding up. To make it to the NBA, Flint trains the team for a successful season on court, besides arranging for many odd promotional events to improve the financial position of the team.
