Plot : To begin with, Salvation Boulevard is a well timed, precise and a satirical take on the common phenomenon of mega churches led by mega pastors! The movie is a hilarious take on the belief that ordinary men and women put into such men of religion, even after being manipulated by them. Pastor Dan is another one of those men, swaying thousands by the power of his spoken words, hypnotizing them, and inducing them into a trance with his spin laden sermons. His will is the law for his followers and he claims to be their messiah. But he is just another scamster, a wolf in sheep’s skin. Salvation Boulevard is about a follower, a single solitary unit of the mega church. His name is Carl; he is a recovering deadhead and a hippie, a no good human being trying to be of some use to his own self and humanity. Carl and his lovely wife, Gwen are staunch followers of Pastor Dan and his words, blissfully unaware of his behind the scene activities and thuggery. A born-again, Carl, falls prey to the classical scenario of wrong place, wrong time and wrong person, and stumbles upon what had remained hidden from everyone! Whether you watch Salvation Boulevard online, or at the Cannes Film Festival, the rollercoaster ride that Carl goes through as he tries to avoid the maddening hordes of Dan’s followers chasing him, is full of laughs and enjoyable humor.
