Plot : Revolutionary Road, a romantic drama directed by Sam Mendes, is set in 1955 and tells about a young couple’s struggle to come to terms with their personal problems. Frank and April Wheeler seemingly live a perfect life in a Connecticut suburb, with their two young children. While Frank’s job makes him travel to New York everyday, April is a housewife. However, the couple is really not happy as April has renounced her dream of being an actress and Frank detests his job. To rejuvenate their life, April suggest that the family move to Paris, a city Frank loved when he visited it during the war. April plans to take on the role of the family’s breadwinner giving Frank enough time to realize his passion in life and also rediscover himself. Frank is initially doubtful about the plan, but later agrees to it. But as the conditions in the lives of the Wheeler’s take an unexpected turn, April goes to extreme measures to rid herself from her unhappy existence.
