Plot : Rembrandt's J'Accuse is a historical mystery documentary directed by Peter Greenaway. This movie is an awesome documentary, as in it, its director’s ferocious condemnation of visual illiteracy has been challenged. Greenaway, via this flick, has tried to highlight stories of 34 painted characters, which are actually reflected by the means of Rembrandt's paintings. This flick takes viewers in the 17th century Amsterdam, where 34 characters devise a plan in order to execute killings, for their own motives and combined self-benefit. The movie displays the background of these people, their motives behind the murder, their conspiracies and context. In his paintings, Rembrandt creates a world, which if considered principally, is absolutely democratic in nature and operation but in reality, is facing domination from 12 families. The movie reveals that everybody’s belief of considering members of these families as benevolent and sympathetic, is totally against reality.
