Plot : R takes us into lives behind the bars of the most highly-secured prisons of America. We see this sinister world unfolding before us as we witness the story of a man named Rune, whose first initial gives the movie its title. Rune is imprisoned for violent assault and is put inside the prison’s most dreaded cell, along with high-profile criminals that including murderers, rapists, drug-dealers, and what not! It’s not long before he realizes that the stay isn’t going to be as easy as he thought it would. As you watch R online, you see the man struggling to adjust in this terrifying milieu, where each glance is shrouded with terror, and each step warns one of an impending danger. We watch Rune transforming, as he goes from being a rebellious young man to one who meekly submits to orders, and learns to do just what he is told to. Amidst the entire chaos that prevails in each cell of the prison, Rune finds a man who goes on to become his best friend and most trusted accomplice. His name is Rashid, who is a Muslim, and he helps Rune to overcome the shackles of race and caste that earlier gripped his mind. Over the period of his stay inside the prison, Rune learns some of his life’s most profound lessons, unconditional love being one of them. Rashid and Rune soon find themselves embroiled in an intricate system of drug transfer with an Arabic gang, which Rune makes much more convenient (the drug transfer) with the use of sewage pipelines. His method remains a well-guarded secret for a substantial chunk of the movie, until he is finally forced into revealing it to the gang leaders. Watch the movie to see what happens next as his once pivotal role is reduced to insignificance.
