Plot : While some have access to loads of resources and live a happy life, others are doomed to suffer and more often than not, have to fight, to make some space for themselves. Precious is the story of Claireece P. "Precious" Jones, who is living under the shadow of her rough mother. She is a young African American girl, and has weight issues. At the tender age of 16, she becomes mother to a son, who is suffering from a rare ailment. As the movie progresses, it becomes apparent that she was made pregnant by her own father. She is made to change her school, because of her second pregnancy. Her teacher at the new learning institution is Blu Rain, who helps her to walk the right path and towards a better future. As the story moves forth, she makes the revelation of her domestic violence to Miss Weiss, who happens to be a social worker. She gives birth to her second child in a hospital and after colliding with her mother, leaves her home, to find her own way in life. Blu Rain helps her in settling down and her new journey starts. Soon, Precious discovers that she has picked up HIV from her father, but is glad and truly grateful to find out that her son is not infected.
