Plot : Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, a fantasy based animated adventure family drama directed by Hayao Miyazaki, is about a 5-year-old boy’s relationship with a goldfish princess who is desperate to become human. A mermaid becomes stranded on a shore after she runs away from her home in sea. There she is rescued by a five-year-old boy named Ssuke, who named her Ponyo. However, Ponyo’s father Fujimoto, forces her to return home, where she has a confrontation with him after telling him that she loves Ssuke. Ponyo is then rescued by her sisters and she into a human with the help of Fujimoto’s magic. This causes an imbalance in the world and gives rise to a big storm, amidst which Ponyo goes back to meet Ssuke. Fujimoto finally announces that if Ponyo and Ssuke pass a test they can stay together without threatening the world order. Will Ssuke and Ponyo pass the test and whether Ponyo will be able to retain her human form, remains to be seen?
