Plot : The business of hip-hop music is like a roller coaster, because it has its share of ups and downs. And at times, the downs can be brutally dangerous and quite fatal. The film, Platinum Illusions, which revolves around the life of Oscar Hernandez, is a similar story and the rider of that roller coaster is Oscar himself. An ex-member of a gang, the Latino Oscar Hernandez wants to make it big in the hip-hop business and sets out to grab a recording contract for his new found career. He happens to sign a contract for a decade, with one of the finest Latin hip-hop record labels, but not before leaving one of his crew members in a critical condition. A tip-off from a competing studio head, unearths some very disturbing and mind boggling pictures about the record label company. The company supposedly conspires to kill its top artists, in order to have high album sales after their death. However, when Oscar comes to know about this, he plans his escape from the business; but he soon realizes that it is not going to be easy. He is once again dragged into the dirty business of gang war, which he had vowed to leave and never be a part of again. The film talks about a man’s will power to overcome obstacles and how willing he is to go after what he dreams of.
