Plot : Phil Ochs: There But For Fortune is a movie that chronicles the events which took place in the life of Phil Ochs. In a way, the movie is a biography of Phil’s life, which also highlights political scenario of that time. Phil played an important part in the political settings of that time. His songs worked as a medium to protest against war and this movie brings to viewers his political views as well as personal life. His songs had the capability to change the world for better, and this fact is well captured in the movie. Furthermore, the movie features some of the major issues of 1960s and 70s like the Civil Rights struggle, the killing of President John F. Kennedy and Rev. Martin Luther King etc. Phil had not supported U.S. policies, and the same is portrayed in the movie. The interview of some of the most important people of the movement is shown in this movie. Phil found his calling in music and politics during his studies at the Ohio State University. Later on, he left his school with the aim to become the primary songwriter in the folk movement.
