Plot : Outside the Law is a story of a mother and her three sons, who are rendered homeless. They have lost their place of residence in Algeria and are forced to split from each other. All four of them end up in different parts of the world. The first brother, who is called Messaoud, moves to build his career in the field of defense of nations. Messaoud is now devoted towards the French army, and aims to fight for the Indo-China war. The next brother in focus is Abdelkader, who now is the upfront leader of the Algerian independence movement, which is taking place in France. And the third brother is Said, who now is living a life of his own in Paris, in the hope of making a career in the field of boxing. Outside the Law is one movie, that throws light on the fact the world is very small. And same is the case with Abdelkader, Messaoud and Said. In the climax of Outside the Law, these three brothers are re-united once again, and this time it’s for a meaningful purpose. Destiny plays a spiritual role in their lives and it’s time now for them to fight for their freedom. And this time, they cannot afford to lose. It’s a do-or-die situation for them. The movie was nominated for the Best Screenplay at the 16th Lumière Awards. Outside the Law was also voted as one of the best movies made, by foreign journalists, who treat Paris as their work space. The movie was also a nominee in the category of Best Foreign Language Film at the 83rd Academy Awards.
