Plot : Ocean of Pearls is directed by Sarab Singh Neelam and is based on the experiences of Sikhs after the 9/11 attacks. The movie centers on Amrit Singh, a Sikh with a traditional look that includes, a turban and long beard. Unfortunately, he becomes the target of racial discrimination in America, despite his profession of being a doctor. He decides to go against his own beliefs and chops off his hair. He observes that his dream of becoming a Chief of transplant surgery cannot be accomplished in his present avatar. Things come crumbling down, when he chooses to keep this decision a secret from his girlfriend and family, residing in Toronto. He tries to cope up with romantic temptations at work, hospital politics and finally the death of a patient, due to his compromise. It is the death that makes him stop and look back at his decisions.
