Plot : Revolving around a true story, North Face is an adventurous movie about an immensely challenging contest to scale one of the most treacherous rock faces in the horizon-touching Alps. The movie renders the screens with a daring attempt to climb Eiger, North Face, in 1936. Two teams with high aims try to make the impossible turn possible, with their limitless grit and unsurpassable determination. Meet team one, comprising of Germans Toni Kurz (played by Benno Furmann) and Andi Hinterstoisser (played by Florian Lukas), who end their duties as soldiers to realize their dream of joining the list of daredevil-mountaineers. Brimming with enthusiasm, Toni and Andi show a greater inclination towards mountain climbing than towards the latest on-goings on the political front. Team two comprises of Austrians, who reflect eagerness about the Nazi-driven incorporation of their country into Hitler’s nation. While the movie’s plot has its major focus on the suspense-driven adventures of these desperate rock-climbers, it does involve a fragmented focus on characters like an upright newspaper employee, who shares a good rapport with the German climbers. Their climbing attempt holds the possibility of her career receiving the much-desired take off. All in all, North Face is a movie with plenty to keep the viewers spellbound. It’s a pleasurable watch for those, who love to turn over the pages of glory-wrapped history!
