Plot : Directed by George C. Wolfe, Nights in Rodanthe, is an adaptation of a popular romantic novel by Nicholas Sparks. The story revolves around Dr. Paul Flanner (Richard Gere) who is on his way to reconcile with his estranged son. While on his way, Paul is forced to take shelter in a roadside inn in Rodanthe, in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, when a major storm is forecast in the area. There he meets the caretaker, Adrienne Willis (Diane Lane) who is tending to the inn for a friend. As is turns out, Adrienne is struggling with an unsuccessful marriage besides a rebellious young daughter and is contemplating divorce. The two strangers connect emotionally and thus begin a passionate affair.
