Plot : Newcastle is a drama directed by Dan Castle, about a teenager whose coming of age is hindered by sibling rivalry. Jesse (Lachlan Buchanan), wants to be a surfing star but lives in the shadow of his older half-brother Victor (Reshad Strik), who used to be a local surfing champ, until an injury cut short his budding career and led him to spend his days wallowing in sarcasm and drinking alcohol. Adding to Jesse’s family woes, is his younger brother, Fergus (Xavier Samuel) who has recently declared himself to be a homosexual much to Jesse’s disgust. So when a group of Jesse’s friends plan to have an all-night party on the beach, he is determined to attend the same at all costs. This becomes a turning point in his life as a tragedy leads him to realize his priorities in life as well as find love while making him give performance of a lifetime
