Plot : “Mary And Max” is a rib-tickling animated comedy directed by Adam Benjamin Elliot. This incredible flick illustrates the significance of pen-pal friendship between two friends. The two of them are very different from each other but remain friends for 18 years. One is Mary Daisy Dinkle (Toni Collette), a chunky friendless 8-year-old girl who lives in Mount Waverley, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia and the other one is Max Horowitz (Philip Hoffman), severely obese, atheistic Jewish man with Asperger syndrome who lives in New York City. Their friendship initiates in a very unusual way. One day, Mary, leafing through the pages of Manhattan phone book, picks up a name and writes a letter and sends it with a chocolate bar, to his unknown friend, Max. The recipient replies that little girl with a letter and chocolate too. That initiates a long series of correspondence between the two.
