Plot : Lion’s Den is a drama, directed by Pablo Trapero, about an imprisoned mother who struggles to bring up her new born in a prison. 25-years old Julia (Martina Gusmán) is two weeks pregnant when she wakes up one morning to find herslf surrounded by the blood ridden bodies of her two former lovers, Nahuel and Romiro (Rodrigo Santoro). She is then sent to a prison for mothers and pregnant female criminals. To show her protest against the system, Julia recedes back into her own world. Later, she gives birth to a baby boy, whom she names Tomas, and soon comes to realize the hardships she has to face while raising her child in the prison. However, despite the difficulties, her love for Tomas, who has become more important than anything else in her life, grows with each passing day. Later she goes to visit Romiro, in the men’s prison and learns that their feelings for each other are as confused as the affairs of the night of crime.
