Plot : ‘La Vie En Rose’ is a biography of the ‘Little Sparrow’, Edith Piaf (1915-1963). Born to father Louis and mother Edith Gassion, she spent her influential years, with her alcoholic mother, who used to run the house as a street singer, as her father was away during World War 1. The few years of her life were also spent in her grandmother’s brothel. Her father began his life as a street acrobat after the war, and took her along. Despite of being an unhealthy child, Louis never compromised with her illness. Rather, she was blessed with the hierarchical singing voice of her mother. She got the name Piaf (which means sparrow) after being heard by cabaret owner Louis Leplee, who gave her her first break as well. After strict vocal coaching from Raymond Asso, Edith achieved tremendous fame throughout the world. She was romantically connected with middleweight boxer Marcel Cerdan and later got married to singer Jacques Pills. The La Vie En Rose video shows how her career was threatened due to murder, morphine and alcohol addictions, which she initially used to relieve the pain of a serious car accident and her health.
