Plot : Julie & Julia, a biographical drama directed by Nora Ephron that chronicles the life Julia and Paul Child using the memoirs of Julia Child as a reference. The documentary is based on the true stories of two women who are both at loose ends. But then they both come to realize that combining passion, fearlessness and butter, in the right measure makes anything possible. Julie Powell (Amy Adams) is a perturbed temporary secretary who sets out on a culinary expedition to cook all 524 recipes present in Julia Child (Meryl Streep)’s cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking. She records her year long experiences of experiments and troubles in a blog, which soon becomes popular among the food crowd. The film also showcases the years in 1940’s and 1950’s during which Julia Child and her husband Paul (Stanley Tucci) stayed in Paris, where Paul worked a foreign diplomat and was in the end investigated by Sen. Joseph McCarthy as he was suspected for having ties with the communists.
