Plot : It’s Kind of a Funny Story is a dramedy, that revolves around the character of Craig. He is a sixteen year old boy, but is quite different from the rest of the boys his age. Craig is someone, who is often pressurised by his dad, and is compared to his best friend Aaron. Aaron is dating Nia, someone who has occupied a special place in Craig’s heart since long. He has an immense crush on her and cannot digest the fact that she is dating Mr. Perfect Aaron! Craig now is left with no hopes to live a good life, and tries to jump off the Brooklyn Bridge. But fortunately enough, he is safe. He now feels the need to visit a hospital and thus requests doctor Mahumoud for help. The doctor plans Craig’s stay in the psychiatric ward of the hospital. Craig shares his room with some teenagers, as some portions of the hospital are under renovation. It is here that he meets a man named Bobby. After spending several days in the hospital, both of them bond well and Craig finds out that Bobby has tried to commit suicide six times, thereby making him land in a similar situation. Craig also discovers a new love interest in Noelle, who is all the more impressed to see Craig consoling Bobby, and advising him to opt for a better perceptive in life. It’s a Kind of a Funny Story is all about taking a look at life, in a slightly different way.
