Plot : Directed by Anne Aghion, Ice People is a documentary film that chronicles the day-to-day lives of a small group of researchers passing through the snow covered regions around the South Pole. These scientists work in subzero temperature with cold winds to find traces of a prehistoric past, now hidden under thick layers of ice. The team consists of two undergraduate students and two highly esteemed professors. As the four researches are almost cut off from the rest of the world, they naturally find themselves having close rapport and intimacy with each other. As they struggle emotionally to adjust to the prospect of 24-hour sunlight, they also learn to appreciate the terrestrial brilliance of the surrounding neighborhood. However, their commitment to their work is steadfast and they entertain an endless urge to uncover data that will give hint that the coldest continent was once warm and teeming with life.
