Plot : The film, Higher Ground is about keeping the higher morale by believing in trust, belief and love. Carolyn Briggs is the female protagonist of the film and the story weaves around her. Like other young girls, Carolyn didn’t generate any interest in the religious matters, and therefore, practices like reading the Bible were certainly out of question for her. Experiencing life at her own expense was a mundane belief to her. She gets pregnant at the young age of 17 and gets married at 18. She simply goes with the flow and does not learn any lesson from life, until one day! During her bus journey, along with her husband and child, she realizes the worth of the life gifted to her by God. Watching death fleeting in front of her eyes, almost touching her and her entire family, Carolyn’s soul shakes in the wake of belief in the eternal power– God! Owing her second life to God, Carolyn begins to devote her time at the feet of the divine. Opting to lead a simple and moderate life, Carolyn nurtures her belief about the existence of the supreme body, God. Nothing could have ever changed, till the time her trust was put to test.
