Plot : Hesher, the movie, is a profound display of emotions. There’s grief, loss, solitude on one hand and mirth and hope, on the other hand. It is the story of a young boy named TJ. The movie also has another lead character Hesher, who leads a lonely life. He doesn’t socialize and stays aloof. He has a clumsy look, with tattoos and unkempt hair. To top it all, he is a chain smoker. All in all, he is introduced as a dark character. The movie shows the other lead character TJ as a boy, grieving for his mother. Losing his mother at a very young age, he has been unable to put himself together after the loss. His grandmother is his guardian. When the two characters, TJ and Hesher, meet, they gel well inspite of the differences. What makes TJ’s life eventful is the fact that the company of Hesher puts the boy in situations he has never confronted. The movie takes a different turn with the appearance of the character Nicole, who comes to TJ’s help in almost all the problems that he faces. Hesher, on the other hand, starts living with TJ in his grandmother’s house. It is way too interesting to see how Hesher, who hates company, bonds with TJ and his grandmother. The movie made its first appearance at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. The story also shows TJ’s father, completely dependent on drugs, coping up with the loss of his wife, with little time for his son. Overall, the film is a drama worth watching!
