Plot : There must be innumerable people who have been in relationships and have had their hearts broken, however, how many could claim, that they have broken the hearts of others? The romantic comedy Heartbreaker, would certainly give “heart breaking” a whole new connotation. The movie centers on Alex (Romain Duris) and his sister as well as her husband, who are professionals in the art of breaking romantic relationships. They understand the situation of women, who do not realize that they are ‘unhappy in love’, and come to their ‘rescue’! The movie inches forward towards an interesting turn, when Alex is contacted by a wealthy man to sabotage the wedding of his daughter, Juliette (Vanessa Paradis), and that too within the time span of 10 days! The only reason Alex says yes to this ‘offer’ is because of the huge pay packet that comes along. So, Alex becomes Juliette’s bodyguard, but comes to know very soon, that unlike his previous cases, Juliette happens to be happy about the wedding with Jonathon (Andrew Lincoln). As are his ways of trade, Alex tries to woo her, with his typical styles. The story gets more angular, when this “Heartbreaker” and Juliette, develop a liking for each other, as the time for the wedding inches closer. Eventually, Alex decides to drop the ‘case’ and leave, but not before telling Juliette that she should go ahead with the marriage. The lovely backdrop of Monaco, coupled with slapstick comic scenes, make the flick gratifying. There are several sweet moments, like Alex enacting the dance moves from Patrick Swayze’s “Dirty Dancing”, which are certain to entertain.
