Plot : ‘Heart of Stone’ is a documentary about Weequahic High School in Newark, New Jersey, directed by Beth Toni Kruvant. The movie is created with the aim of knocking down viewers to the past and present situations of the organization, as the school which used to be a reputed institute some time had turned to be violence zone few years back. The Heart of Stone video fervently features the attempts of principle and adolescents to overcome that adversity. Life in Weequahic changed immediately after 1967 Newark insurrections. And, then in next 30 years, the customs of discipline were substituted by a culture of crime. The academic performance was torn down and only Blood & crime ruled the campus. But, then in 2001 a beam of light entered that dark zone, in the form of new principal, Ron Stone. He put his hard efforts to take the school back to its former glory. Funds were raised for scholarships, relationships with the gang members were made familial, and the misguided students were requested to leave the comfort of streets and to attend the college regularly. Now, the situation is this, Weequahic High School has become the only school of United States that graduated maximum PHDs.
