Plot : Hall Pass is the perfect blend of hilarity and a lesson to learn. The movie showcases the inevitable truth that ‘everything in life comes with a price’. The major leads on the film are played by Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis, who play Rick and Fred respectively. Rick and Fred are the best of buddies who have a lot in common. The biggest similarity that they share, apart from their avocations, is the fact that they’ve both sustained long and happy marriages with their wives, Maggie and Grace. Even though they are happily wed, yet like any other regular married man, they’re bored of their lives and miss being single. They find their sex lives bland and desire to embark on some adventurous escapades. Just when they believe that their situation is hopeless and that they can’t do anything about it, they get a ticket to the world of their dreams from a source that they least expected it from- their wives! Maggie and Grace decide to give their husbands exactly what they’re asking for, by granting them a ‘hall pass’ that permits them to do all that they desire for a week, without any restrictions, whatsoever. What begins as a fun ride that any married man would dream of ends up being not half as exciting as they thought it would be. They ultimately realize that the life that they missed was a thing of the past that wasn’t suitable for them any longer. The movie is an eye-opener that will make you realize that at times, dreams are much better in the head than in reality!
