Plot : Gotta Dance is a documentary directed by Dori Berinstein, that tells the tale of the first ever hip-hop dance team all of whose members are senior citizens. New Jersey NETSationals is the New Jersey Nets, basketball team’s hi-hop dance troupe that comprises of only senior citizens. Having already engaged a professional dance team, a cheerleading squad, and a kids dance team, the Nets franchise supplemented their entertainment family with the NETSationals team, in 2007, which was initially conceived as a PR stunt by the New Jersey Nets basketball team. The director followed the Nets franchise as they recruited, auditioned, and trained the NETSationals. As these people aged between 63 to 80 years, ignore swollen ankles and face challenges from their young Nets Dancer coaches, they put up with exhausting rehearsals, fashion crises, radical personality transformations and seemingly impossible dance steps to spread joy and inspiration. Using their cool dance moves to win the hearts of Nets fans as well as an ecstatic and astonished crowd of Meadowlands.
