Plot : Earth Days, a documentary directed by Robert Stone, tells the tale of the growing awareness and understanding of the environmental crisis and emergence by the human race. The documentary traces the beginning of the modern environmental movement and also brings to light the historic events that have led to the celebration of the first Earth Day. With the help of the nine Americans who share their experiences about how they boosted the movement from its start in the 1950s, it takes the viewers on a journey that culminated in the movement’s moment of accomplishment in 1970, with the celebration of the foremost Earth Day. Currently the movement has evolved beyond imagination, gaining the status of a major American political force. The documentary uses eyewitness statements and a treasure of hidden archival footage to explore the revolutionary feats and neglected opportunities in nearly ten years of innovative activism. The result is a graceful reflection on mans complex relationship with nature and an inquisitive analysis of past reactions to ecological crisis.
